Spell check is right in front of me. The "Preview" button is right next to the "Post new topic" button. Yet time and time again, I fail the test! My last post had to be edited 3 times AFTER I posted it

I like to tease spell check by using such words as:

colour
favour
catalogue
cancelled
behaviour
defence

If you look on the top of the posted window there are 5 little symbols. One is Edit Click on that and you can correct your original post. The answer to your question is emphatically NO! I do it quite often. I belong to three forums and do it all the time. Edit is a lifesaver. I think we do that because we are used to spell check. If you check your new post before actually posting it. Words spelled wrong will have a little squiggly line under it. Rt click and it will give you most words spelled correctly. I rest my case.

I believe that the software used by SCF add misspelled words and alters my perfect grammer syntax. I am sure that I could not make all those mistakes without some assistance.

After hearing a saying repeated hundreds of times, in a less popular stamp forum here, it made sense after reading unchecked contributions - "You ARE what you post"

I always proof read my posts.
Sometimes I look at them and think, how on Earth did I write that?
It's especially bad late at night.

I am mostly a one-fingered typist. Sometimes I have learned to stick the other thumb in the mess to help out or an odd finger or two. This causes me to, only when tired or distracted or thinking of too many things at once (read most of the time), replace some letter with letters closer to my right hand so I don't have to reach so far across my 'streamlined' stomach area.

I do like seeing others mis-typing words like I do. Like teh instead of the. Or transposing (replacing one with the other) a and e or e and I in words. Like instaed or beleif. Makes me feel that all is right in the world and I am not alone in my struggles.

I have always wondered why I do such things. Is a certain part of my brain working faster than another part, jumping ahead and assuming the rest will be done in order to catch up with the fast part? Or are parts slowing up rather more than other slower parts?

Or I am seeing in another dimension or cross-eyed and cross-brained at the same time? Gremlins aren't this good that they could consistently make this many mistakes.

Maybe I am not in the proper Yoga position while typing to have my energies balanced so what comes out is what is going on inside, as pondered on by another poster here.

Triggersmob yes, know that feeling very well. Hard to transform one's thoughts into a few lines that readers will interpret as intended.

Always replacing groups of word with few, eg - 'as it is by us' becomes 'our view'. etc etc

I always proof my posts, partially to check images if there are any.
Misspelling in things like emails really irk me. It' s like the dumbing down of our society. This has all become so easy, we don't take the care we should. I guess part of this is, my wife is a high skool English teacher and I'm always being shown the atrocious mistakes her students make. I worry about getting a bad mark.

Is this how they spell it in Canada?
Is it a deliberate mistake?
Or maybe not a deliberate mistake and your Wife needs to give you extra spelling lessons. LOL
