This specific flight and special cancellation are listed in the American Air Mail Catalog, under Contract Air Mail Route No. 13. The catalog number is #13N3, the cancel is Type 13b, and the pilot was James D. Hill.

In 1977, the catalog value was $12.

The addressee, Rufus B. Cowing Jr., was a prominent NYC attorney and the son of a State Supreme Court Justice.
