Actually, Thanksgiving-themed postcards were apparently quite popular in their day. I never realized they were so popular until recently checking out this link displaying more than 200 of them!

I'm amused by the romantic images of children playing with turkeys as if they were cherished family pets ... placed right along-side images of hungry children holding knives & forks. Quite the dichotomy!

Looks like the turkey is swallowing the kid, before the little girl gets a chance to sit down to her Thanksgiving dinner. Let that be a lesson to you, little Emily (or Sarah or Betty). It's a cruel world out there. Like the man said, "Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you", or turkey in this case.
