Latvia transformed German maps into stamps 1918

If you have German topographic maps of 1918 from Latvia you can be very happy, because Latvia had an acute shortage of paper after the end of World War II. So, without further ADO perforated paper, i.e. old topographic maps and sold as stamps.

Anybody has one of these stamps? A se-tenant? I am going crazy....

Newbie here - so please excuse the dumb question. What are these? The map is on the reverse of the stamp? Or the map side is the face of the stamp? Either way...these are great!

Sorry that was actually 3 dumb questions.

Are they common? I think I need to find some of these.
