I have this tiny little stamp, measures 15mm by 15mm, that I know nothing about. I thought it may be some kind of ration stamp, but I have no idea. So all questions apply. Country? Year? Use? etc. Anything will help.

It's very interesting but I have never ever seen one before. I'm sure someone has and will chime in soon. Good luck!

I have never seen anything like that one either. I have a good reference book at home. I will gladly look when I get home.

Manama (Arabic: #1575;#1604;#1605;#1606;#1575;#1605;#1577;#8206; Al Man#257;ma) is the capital and largest city of Bahrain, with an approximate population of 155,000 people.

Sorry, should have done my homework first. I have a whole bunch of these little stamps. Will sort them and put them in a book.

As I understand it, those Manama stamps are unlisted in the Scott catalog, as they were all CTO's that were never postally used but simply sold to collectors as a profit making scheme. They are frowned upon by certain collectors because of this. They are part of the "Trucial States" stamps of that region which was discussed in previous SCF Threads such as this:

I'd agree with warrehouse that this is a toy. Seems to me something similar was posted here a couple of months ago, but I can't find it.

Hi fifia,

These stamps are from the other Manama, the small town in Ajman in the UAE.

Indeed, Manama is a city in Bahrain, however, stamps inscribed "Manama" are not from that Manama. These stamps are from Manama, a dependency of Ajman, one of the United Arab Emirates (aka the Trucial States).

Regards, Robert

Edit: Nigelc beat me to it.

It's not Manama. It's smaller then those shown. And all the Manama stamps I've say "Manama". And mine has gum, which most Manama I've seen doesn't. And I have never seen Manama stamps printed on Granite Paper.
