I have compared this silhouette with similar hyroglyphics from Egypt and none I have seen match. |

I checked around for more resources and came upon this site. Don't know if it will help but it looks like it has every bird stamp somehow listed. Might take some time to go through but there is a contact page that might be faster. http://www.birdtheme.org/ |

Could we see a scan of the back? I'm not sure it would help. My first thought is it a redemtion stamp like others have said, since there isn't any county identifiers on it. |

Here is a scan of the back. It is granite paper, but I personally have never seen a stamp with so many fibers in it before.  |

Probably NSA or CIA. Anytime you can't find a logical solution it must be a covert government organization issue. |
