I found this stamp from the UN and it has this smudge line the runs from the top of the stamp, down through the N in Nations, and down to the big hand on the right. Any ideas as to what this is exactly ?

most likely during the printing process a small piece of foreign matter contacted the sheet after coming off of the wet press but before hitting the dryer. Could have been a small piece of paper or lint.
