Cinderella Collector/ US Postal History From Montana

Hello, I'm active on, *ahem*, other stamp related forums, but just found this one and see some good stuff here.

I collect American Book Trade, especially older US bookseller and bookbinder labels from the western US. I am also interested in American book trades during the Civil War, and even have a few cool items, like a US Revenue stamp with a clear bookseller's cancel.

So, I'm a philatelic scavenger, but have found the philatelic world very useful to my collection.

I'm also interested in postal history related to the two rural Nebraska post offices my grandfather worked in from the 1960s-1980s (Albion and Stromsburg). I'm also interested in the postal history of the county and area where I'm the director of the local museum (centered on Richland County, Montana).

For an ephemera collector, my BOBs are tea bag tabs.

Montana ay? I was in Australia years ago on vacation and they mostly thought I sounded like I was from Montana, although I have never been there, mostly stayed here in Nova Scotia, with sporadic, spontaneous travelling bursts. Guess I should visit sometime and find out? lol

Huh. Nova Scotia is a place I've always wanted to go. Sounds nice--- like Montana. I'm not from here originally, but my wife is, and there is certainly an accent. Not that my accent is undiluted-- I lived far too long in the wilds of Texas and Oklahoma as a youngster for my speech to escape unscathed.

Oh, and by the way, book collecting got me onto book trade labels, and the need for organization and nomenclature led me to the world of philately.

We have a few very active Cinderella collectors here so you should fit right in.
Since you probably will be snowed in this Winter there should be no better hobby to pass the time.

Even in Northeast Montana, not much snow this winter-- unlike last year where at one point we had snow on the ground that was nearly 6 months old. I didn't even see open ground from the end of November until some time in February or March. We had a week of -30. This year, it was +50 on Christmas. We've only had a few inches of snow all winter. And I was all ready for another bad one. :(
