They were a bit wacky back at the turn of the century.

It must be rare... as it's signed by the Supreme Treasurer, the Supreme Recorder, and the Supreme Mystic Ruler.

I wonder what that organization is all about? Sounds like a fraternity or secret society of some kind or another doesn't it? I done a quick search and it's along the same lines as the odd fellows. You have to have been a mason for a certain number of years to be even eligible.

Whilikers, three signatures required for a $4.50 check. Does anyone know how the $4 and circle of dots mark was made to the left of the word No.? Seems very modern.

Ha.. I was wondering the same thing, but didn't want to look too green asking. I figured there had to be a way somehow. I will be interested to know though.

Probably just a perfin machine. Perfins have been around before 1901 so I believe it's of the period. If it was added later on it could have just been a records or filing notation. Just my guess but I think its of the period looking at the font style.

A 1900 dollar was worth about $750 2010 dollars, so the "value" of the check is approx. $3,375 in today's dollars. Many organizations, both then and now, require at least two signatures. Also, depending on to whom and/or why a check is being written require a third "I concur" signature.
All in all, this is an extremely desirable item!
