Does anyone know (amybe I just missed the boar somewhere) how to be able to detect watermarks on a stamps that is still on the postcard (first one that says take it off the postcards gets it!). I can figure years of use approximately, perforations and the rest but not the postmark and with some of my older US stuff that is kind of important. All opinions welcome - thanks in advance - Jeff

Hi Jeff, The Roll-a-tector is supposed to help you with this but I've never used one so I don't know how easy they are to use.

Here's an advert I found just now:

Jeff,

I've had some success with the Roll-a-tector detecting watermarks on US stamps on cover but don't recall using it for a stamp on a post card. In theory it should work on post cards as well.
