Amazing Warrehouse. Thanks for all the work you have put into this. It is not a small job. I'll alphabetise these with occasional comments (eg, Indian States) and see what we come up with. Thanks again to you and to others.

Quote: Slovenia, So Far! not sure how this will play out for your qualifications, but here are some options: 1. SHS issues for Slovenia (verigar/chain breaker series) were overprinted and re-valued for postage due usage. 2. Italian & German stamps overprinted during WWII Axis occupation. 3. Laibach provincial issues (issued under German annexation) were overprinted after liberation for use in Yugoslavia (overprinted "SLOVENIA 1945") but, as for the modern Republic of Slovenia, then no, so far! |

Isle of Man and Jersey both overprinted some s/s in 2010, if they count. not the stamp itself, but in the border.

here's another one that may be a stretch.
South Arabia. some Aden stamps were overprinted with "South Arabia" in English and Arabic, along with a new value.I know this doesn't count since it was "technically" a new country. but... (and there is always a but, isn't there?) some of these "South Arabia" overprinted stamps received a second overprint, with "1874-1965/Winston Churchill" as well as some with "1917-1963/John F. Kennedy" |

I knew there maybe I may have missed some. I'm working with 1995 catalog.
Khuli, South Arabia stays , the others you mentioned were issued by the small states within the Federation. All national issues have no overprint.
Sri Lanka I found what you mentioned plus another one, these are noted in 'small' print, so It's out!
Papua & New Guinea I missed. The one's you mention weren't in my catalog yet. But I still should have seen Scott 686.
Malawi found my miss there! Thanks.
Slovenia, we could count as out with the post WW1 issues. But it was nearly 70 years apart. Yet they are both geographicly the same. The Occupation issues by Italy & Germany are not the same territory and were not issued under the name Slovene. However the liberation issued overprint in 1945 would be. What catalog did you find the liberation issue mentioned?

don't have any catalogs, yet. just an accumulation of tidbits picked up across the web. looking at those liberation issues, notice they also have "JUGOSLAVIJA" on them, too, but they were designed for use in Slovenia. Similar overprints without the Jugoslavija were put on some of the Reich Hitler stamps, but I didn't mention them because of the criteria.
All the finds I have posted for other countries were all just from searching delCampe auction site. |
