interesting, I knew about FDR's role in the creation of the UN – but had no idea he designed stamps.

I knew he collected and designed stamps. BUT, I didn't know he was designing one when he died.

He took a very active role in stamp design including the Mother Days Issue of 1934. I'm not sure of the total number he designed but there were a few of them.
