I agree with Rod, tongs are great for removing staples.
I use them to remove staples from my coin 2x2 holders.

As for where to keep your tongs, that is what the Swiss army knife is for.

I carry a swiss army knife in the bum bag,
on my racing bike.
I could have sworn I had a swiss army knife on a stamp,
but "knife" and "army" failed to locate it on my database.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture for this. a few weeks back my 3 yo grand son thought it would be fun to stuff into his nose two (one for each nostril, apparently it wa so good that both needed one) polystyrene beads that he had just 'liberated' from the bean-bag.

The smooth-edged shovel-nose (no pun intended) tweezers were perfect for the emergency extraction
