I know that I speak only for myself, but that is an awful design. |

It wouldn't be my choice for the best designed stamp, either. I guess we only have Derry Noyes to blame, as he she is the noted designer of this stamp. I think he she has been credited with designing several earlier stamps, too, if my recall is correct. This link provides info. on the designer: http://www.beyondtheperf.com/biography/derry-noyes |

rohumpy said it all in my humble opinion. *sigh*. Where are the engravers and the pride of design at these days? |

AARP posted a small article about the February release of the Heart Health and Love Ribbon stamps, but they got the date wrong -- the Heart Health Stamp as shown earlier in this thread is to be issued on February 9, 2012. The link below suggests that they are "available now" (February 2, 2012) which is incorrect. http://blog.aarp.org/2012/02/02/the...-your-heart/I also find it interesting that for collectors who may not subscribe or bother with the Postal Bulletin, that neither the USPS Web Site, Beyond the Perf or USPS Facebook identifies the exact date of issue for the Heart Health Stamp. (One would think they would have updated their web sites by now.) |

I agree. This one of the not so catchy designs. With respect to Heart health I think there are a million ways to depict a stamp... I collect medicine as a theme and this one looks so un- Medical ish!! |

Oh, I don't know if I'd agree with the above comments. I quite like this style of illustration. I think it's fun and quite modern. I wonder if the overall design couldn't have been a little simpler, a lot happening in that little space. But I think, overall it gives a positive and uplifting feeling to a very serious topic. It's more about lifestyle than strictly a medical topic. |

Another "global" style stamp... boring...
Hmmm... how about a nice photo showing an artery clogged with cholesterol???
(just kidding) |

My "unofficial" First Day Cover for the Heart Health Stamp. I like doing these because the date is real, not bogus like the "official" first day cancellations or post office applied handstamps. As ugly as it is, the spray-on cancel reflects a date stamped cover that has been through the mailstream that truly reflects postal usage on the "first day of issue": |
