I was snooping around my old bedroom in the basement and I
found an old stockbook with a couple of precancel collections
I started over forty years ago. 1 cent prexie and 4 cent liberty.
I like the 4 cent Lincoln and the rest of the liberty portraits.
Here`s a dozen of the better Lincolns:

Very nice collection. I especially like that Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas precancel. Just counting it out and that precancel is 30 characters long. I'd venture to guess that must be one of the longest names ever applied to a precancel.

I like that one too. I also like the Fond du Lac because
of the font. I wonder what the park needed precancels for?

I think it would be nice to put together a collection
of liberty portraits...1/2 cent to $5. Were any $5
stamps precancelled? Does anyone have a scan they
could post.

Very nice chasa. They all look to be the same type too.
I`ve seen a few $1 values but never a $5.

Being a girl, I just love all that purple.

Seriously, I think this stamp is one of my favorite precancels -- and I'm deeply envious of the quality of the precancel printing on them.

Gosh...it was around 40 years ago...the old memory
is a bit weak. I did belong to a bunch of precancel
clubs and bought stamps from their sales circuit books.

It`s interesting how a certain stamp can catch your eye.
Back in the late 60`s it was the 6 & 8 flag stamps.
