This cancel looks like the red stripes of a US flag. Or is it just an oddball cancel? Maybe it's not even a postal cancel since it is on a precancel. Any comments or your 2 cents worth is gladly accepted.

This is a private mailer's postmark - not scarce but would reduce the precancel value if it had any.

Thanks, I considered it to be a private mailer's postmark but I thought there were no private post marks in the late 30s and 40s. I was not really looking for any high value anyways (although it would have been nice) but since I had never seen it before, I only wanted to know what kind of cancel it was.
