This is surely an Italian cover sent to NDH... but I am not sure is it from Italy itself, or from some of it's Colonies in WWII? Anybody knows something more about this kind of historical items or maybe some other Forum which is more specified for the Judaica's postal history?

The part needed for pertinent info is all scrubbed out with a marker or digitally maybe? I don't believe you really need to do this for an old cover chances are it (that address) was bombed into oblivion anyways. It would be more helpful to have the address than not. Just a thought-

Looks like it possibly could be Buchenwald written on the back flap? Second word up from bottom with the 9 after it...Not positive. Interesting cover.

In my view, it actually came from an Italian Concentration Camp, as everything is written in that language as there's no German mark at all. I'm not an expert on that subject, but I can read Italian.

Yes, it is from Italian Concentration Camp, but I don't know from which country (from today perspective) it came actually... Italy has had some colonies, and maybe it camp was for example in Tunisia?

I love stamps, I scrubbed it out in the Photoshop... because, I don't want to place my full address on-line... yes, that address is still alive and I am almost every day on it :) It is a one of the main streets in Zagreb, and Zagreb is the Capital of Croatia. Zagreb has never been bombed in WII, and it was also a capital of NDH in that time.

The senders name is mentioned in an article, here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rab_co...tration_camp
~and Elvira Kohn, a Jewish Croatian photo-journalist who described her experiences at the camp in some detail.~
So if this is the same person, it`s from island Rab. Howewer, as far as I know, all letter sent from concentration camps were censured in Rome. See no other information on cover (Concentration Camp I.C. ?), but there`s a large violet faint cancellation on front. Maybe you could decipher it, with a magnifying glass?
Anyway, I guess it`s Rab camp....hope it helps.
-edit: it`s no Buchenwald, simply `Baracca9`= Barrack nr. 9. Unfortunately the sender mentions no placename. (Settore-Sector II, Barrack 9).

Hi Wadmalatz, thank you for the help. In fact, it still has a letter included in cover, so, I will take some efforts and read it carefully... so, I will write here if I found something more.
