Today marks the 67th anniversary of V-E Day (May 8, 1945). Unfortunately this one isn't mine, but it's certainly an appropriate cover for this thread:



Anyone else have any stamps or covers on the subject?

Small trivia on the VE Day cover - there are thirteen stamps in the overrun country series but only 12 on the cover - Korea is the other country but not part of VEurope obviously.

As an aside & to put a personal touch on the topic, a buddy of mine is in Europe for the French ceremonies with some of the vets representing Canada. Said the flight to France in the Airbus 380 Dreamliner was fantastic.

I was 8 at the time, living near Petawawa (a really big army base), and couldn't figure out how they would get the ships and submarines in the parade like you saw in the posters.
