For one dollar I bought an envelope of cull US/World stamps that included this hinged block of #1052. The gum appears largely intact although that aspect of philately is not my expertise. Was my dollar well spent? Thanks for looking.

Nice scans and welcome!

Not sure of value myself (no catalogue).

I noticed two thin spots on the back scan probably from where the block had been hinged previously to be displayed sideways in an album. Those spits would lower the value.

In the intersection of the top four stamps, I see what looks to be the remains of a hinge. Unless that's under the stamps on the background.

Was there anything else interesting in the envelope?

This is a Scott #1052. Used, it runs ~$0.15 each. A block of 6 here may net you about a dollar. If you don't have a MNH (worth ~$10.00 ), mount it and call it a day! I love little treasures like this when I go out on Saturday mornings. Never know what you'll find!

Keep posting! I love exotic cancellations. This one is nicer than most.

Why were the photos removed form the original post? They were here earlier today?

That is the problem / issue when using a off-site photo-hosting site to keep your scans / photos on. If the user leaves or changes the photobucket account around or deletes them to put in different photos we lose out on them.
