I am new on here. Hoping for some advice!

I created Save The Date postcards for my wedding and need to buy stamps. The post office only has the 29 cents "Aloha" Hawaiian shirt stamp (yuck). It doesn't go too well with my western themed postcard...

Does anyone know if there are other options for buying 29 cent stamps in other designs somehow?

Anything would be better than Alhoa lol. And I hate to pay 42 cents or more to get something decent since the whole point of doing the postcards was to save money on postage!

Please and Thank You, -mcgregorsgal

The post card rate is 32 cents now so you don't want any 29 cent stamps at all. There's a chance the postal services could return them to sender for additional postage. There are currently no other stamps at the post office except the 32 cent Aloha stamps.

However, 32 cents use to be the first class rate at one time and you can find mint sheets of 32 cents stamps online at sites like ebay all the time. There is Scott #2968 Texas statehood stamp which has a rider on horseback and Texan flag - western like. There's the Civil War sheet, Scott #2975 which is at least around the same time period. American Indian Dances, Scott 2072-3076 could work into your theme as well. Scott 3220, Settlement of the Southwest has a Spanish Mission. Any of these can be found on ebay at face value or close to it if you look around enough.

Now, if you are willing to put a 29 cent stamp along with a 3 cent stamp, there's the Legends of the West sheet, Scott 2869 which would be perfect. the 3 cent stamps can be had at the post office - usually the 3 cent star or the teapot. You might have to pay a bit more than face as it's popular and avoid the recalled version Scott 2870 as you don't want to use that for postage and it sells for a lot more.

Also to note, the majority of these 29 and 32 cent stamps are from the 1990's and are the lick and stick style, before self-adhesive stamps.

Hope that helps,
Will

As Battlestamps already explained, the choices for postcard rate stamps are limited to the 32-cent Aloha Shirts stamps, unless you want to acquire old postage or possibly use multiple stamps currently available at your post office (i.e. 20c, 10c & 2c, or other similar combinations).

I can understand your dilemma about the Aloha stamp not being appropriate for a Western themed invitation, however, in defense of the Aloha Stamps, I find it interesting to note that the USPS has recently announced that the Aloha Stamps are becoming one of the more popular issues in recent memory, as more than 50 million of them have been sold in the month of April alone! That is an impressive number indeed, and now the post office has even come out with them in three different formats: panes of 20, coils of 100 and booklets of 10.

Or you can check ebay stamps and see if you can find a sheet of these.

Scott's # 3086 issued in 1996.

*Edit* - 86 that thought, they did not issues them in full sheets of this stamp. It came with 3 others, John Henry, Paul bunyan & Mighty Casey...I'll keep searching

Everyone, thank you so much for your help!

Battlestamps-Gracias! I bought 40 of the Scott #2968 Texas statehood stamp on ebay (around 42 cents each with shipping).Really like it. I'm Still on the look out for what the other 40 stamps I still need will be. Trying to bid on more of these from other sellers, but still avoiding paying more than 42 at most.

wt1- That it impressive! But for me, variety is the spice of life! I hope they add more options soon for poor brides-to-be like haha! Printing 80 STDS only cost me $5. The postage will cost about 6 times that haha. But, such is life...

stallzer-LOVE pescos bill. Let me know if he turns up! I may get the California gold rush as the last 40 stamps I need. Thanks!
