Great material philby and the best part is that they are tied by the appropriate cancel for the year of the seal.

Here's a 1908 thoroughly tied. This is the more scarce perf 12 variety. |

Also great Doug
I don't collect the US on cover simply because I am trying to scale down my collection but do have a few of the US seals used off paper.

That Chester, PA postcard with a 1908 Christmas Seal is worth something. The Christmas Seal itself (WX3) is only the third Christmas Seal ever produced and has a SCV of $35 by itself. Attached to a postcard cover as shown, would probably boost the pricetag up a bit. |

Hi All, Kinda strange that on those it doesn't have zip codes. How would they have known where it went? |

You're kidding, right?
In case you're not, Zip Codes started in 1965-66. Before that, we had Zone Numbers. Before that, in the average town of 25,000 or less, the Postmaster and his letter carriers jointly knew everyone in town, and you could (in 1907, for instance) address a letter to John Harrison, Canton, Illinois, and it would go straight to him, no street address needed.
Next time you're in an antique shop, browse their old postcards, and note how many have no street address whatsoever, until the 1920s. |

Hi Doug, Wasn't kidding. There must have came a time when some carriers retired and the new ones were overwhelmed with all the mail and who it went to. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it.. Keith |
