to attract predators that would distribute their seeds
over a wide area.

Perhaps the most successful plant in the world,
was the grass, that failed to drop it's seed when shaken
but held it in bounty for harvest by the homosapien.
I live in an area that nurtures and plants that grass
in an area larger than Great Britain.
