Hello to all, I signed up to learn more about the many stamps I have accumulated. I started sporadically collecting stamps because my husband had an interest in them. We gathered stamps from anywhere we could although I did not ever order any except from the USPS.

I used to be a USPS subscriber and got some of everything each month, mostly panes and block plates. I stopped collecting in 1994 when the USPS printed an error but substituted a corrected version for subscribers. I still accumulate stamps, but my last buy was the Celebrate the Century set.

I have a few unusual local collectibles that were issued only at the local PO here to commemorate local events. Probably won't find those in a Scott's catalog.

I am from the Chicago area, moved to Puerto Rico in 1993 after visiting here since 1974. I am officially retired but I still work on a dozen or so websites.. My other interests are gardening, photography and weather.

This looks like the right place for learning and sharing stamp info, though I have far more stamps than info.

Thank you, irishjack, I have been just looking around at all the information shared here. Looks like I have my spare time taken care of for awhile just reading. Stamps are fascinating, I love reading about the variations and history.

Hi jorgesurci, thank you for the nice welcome. I'm hoping to make more time to do searches, I have found that it is easy to lose track of time in here, lots of interesting reading.
