I had offered, at our last stamp club meeting to drive two
of our older members, to the show today.
I ended up taking my German want list, and a few extra dollars
knowing that the stamps needed were some high catalog values.
I stop at this new dealer, and whipped out the want list, and he whips out those tiny black books.
As I start to give hem the first number, I see that he is jotting
down the price on a piece of scrap paper.
Little does this dealer know, I have the 2008 catalog price for
both used and MNH, in my want list book.
I see that the clown is charging me Catalog value, and all he has is MNH.
The blood is starting to boil, but I say nothing and continue giving him the numbers..
After we finished, I figure he is going to discount the Catalog price
and he say..OK give me $ 33.00.
I say WHOA...what are you charging me, full catalog price.
He says yes, not only is my blood boiling but my hand a trembling,
so I decide to create a little ruckus, telling about six collectors sitting at this clowns table, This guys way too expensive.
No dealer at this show sells at catalog price.
I tell the dealer keep your overprice crap, and walk away, along
with three collectors who were at his table.
He yells to me I will take 25 bucks, I yell back Ill give you 15
or no freaking ( I used another word) Deal.
I got the stamps
PS two of the guys that walked away from the table with me are the dudes I drove down
