Over the past 3-weeks, I am happy to report a few collectors have found my gumming error interesting enough to come forward with offers. With such a unique stamp, I have too many mixed feelings to let it go so quick. The money is not going to change my life and I can honestly say; it is an incredible feeling to know there is yet to be an equal comparison brought forward. I understand many collectors find no value in EFO stamps especially gumming errors. With that said, I would like to hear the feedback from the many knowledgeable expertspeople here, negative or positive on this subject.

While I'm not the knowledgeable expert on EFO's but for a gum on wrong side of paper error I'd take that $8500 offer and run. I look at it as a complete set of zeppelins, a # 1, 2, and a few other classics I'd love to have.

Like all the rarities in the world it depends on the uniqueness of the piece, and the market for it. I would bet that every collector on this forum would love to have an "Inverted Jenny" in their collection. In fact when I was about 10 or so I went to a stamp show in NYC. A dealer had and inverted Jenny for sale, the price? $47,000. I told my mother to buy it, she said "Your crazy". I knew there was no way she could have afforded it, but if I had that stamp today....... I would probably still have it in my collection.
So if you have offers for $8,500 and feel its fair go for it. Or keep playing the market see what it may net in the long run. You never know who out there in the philatelic world would want to grab it at a premium........
Good Luck

I would suggest that you not reveal the amounts of the offers that were made to you. A little internet search, and your high offer may suddenly drop like a rock.

You can't put a price on sentimental/joy value. I wouldn't sell the item (regardless of offer) until I had made sure I finished enjoying the item -- even if that means the high offer gets withdrawn and you are left with nothing but the low offer. Like I said, you can't put a price on sentimental/joy value.

I obviously have no sentimental attachment to your item. If I had committed to selling it, I would take the high offer without a 2nd thought. It's much much higher than what one would expect for a gumming freak. And, those sources may very well know each other -- if they should happen to chat about the offers they made...

You can wait around for a higher offer, and you may very well get one in due time. However, my experience is that a bird in hand is better than two in the bush.

I would take khj advice and remove the amounts of the bids, I did a quick serch with 597596+stamp and was able to see your ebay listings and also some of your scf posts so with in 5 minutes some one would see this post.
Also maybe one of the bidders is a scf member? its a small world,

Great advise and thoughtful feedback I need to think about everyone. Thanks. I've noticed the total views jumped by 50 people on my ebay listing over night! The listing overall has an impression score over 16000 as well. At least my find is getting really good exposure and I find a lot of people are reading about it here. I hope it also encourages people to join the forum as well.
