The Dollar Store closed across the street from me. I checked a few others out, and I cannot find boxes, nor packets of Thanksgiving cards. I usually post them to friends and family. I guess nobody mails things out like that anymore.

This past summer, I was in North Bay, Ontario. I went to Wal-Mart, Zellers, and all the tourist places ... the only place I could find postcards was at the Dionne Quintuplets Home.

I guess we are a dying breed; those of us who post greetings.

David

It is hard to find post cards except at places
like Grand Canyon or Las Vegas these days. Of course,
there's the antique malls where not only do I find the
used ones but also ones from all over the world that
have never been written on. That would be interesting to get an older post card but stamped and cancelled with current dates.

My sister in law used to send cards at EVERY occassion--
but with the economy and price of gas she doesn't do that anymore.

I know what you're saying David

Whenever I'm in a shop like winners I check out their boxes of cards and envelopes. They usually have really nice ones with different themes but no message so you can wright what you want on them,

I Have a stash of different ones and can usually find one to suit every occasion.

Sometimes I get ambitious and make up my own.

As for the regular post card I have only seen those near tourist type places. Now the postal card from the post office have been used in my area since the 60's for anything from utility bills to notices from the doctor office, PTA, and many other people.

The regular note card again I don't think I ever seen one used in my life time. Though they are very easy to find if you are looking for them.

To tell the truth I have never seen a special holiday type of anything except Christmas cards. I suppose they have them at the Hallmark stores for such event like Thanksgiving.

We still send cards out with my wife having six brothers and six sisters, but even with a large extended family the cost hasn't been anything even close to prohibit us from continuing this. After all gas is close to going below the $2.00 mark around here.
