I still don't know if I like them but I did pick them up when they came out.

Man, oh, man! You gotta love those FINS!
My Uncle is into restoring old cars and those cars were built to last--unlike what we have offered today!
Thanks for posting!

mk- those are wonderful stamps! They bring back memories, and they are a part of US history. My favorite car is the 1957 Chevrolet. They all had different "personalities" back then. To me, all the newer cars look alike- boring.

I like them. I am not a gear head and am too young to have fond memories of them. I do however enjoy classic cars abd they tie in well with my rt66 collection.

A classic car to me was a 1977 Ford F150 four wheel drive with some rust. Yeah I even missed the muscle cars, they were long gone when I got into cars.

The fin cars of the fifties were great. Most seemed to be two-tone, and makes and years were easy to tell apart. I liked the '57 Chevy, but when I saw the first '58 with its kind of rolled over fins, that was radical.

As for muscle cars, one of the first things I did when I got of the Army in 1972 was buy a 1967 Pontiac GTO with money I saved while in Vietnam. It was in great shape and powerful with a 400 cubic inch displacement engine and big Holley 4 barrel carburetor that poured in the gasoline like it was water. It could only be run on high test and got about 10 MPG. I decided to put it up for sale when high test hit 50 cents per gallon during the first oil crunch! I just about had it sold to the first serious looker when my father told me he wanted it. My mother ended up driving it and the guys in her department (she was one of only two women, not counting the secretary) got a kick out of that and called her hot rod momma even though she was a conservative driver and in all her years on the road was never involved in an accident.

Though hubby and I are into British classics: we have a 68 EType Jaguar that he bought when he first joined the military, I love the look of the classics from 50's. Thanks for sharing these with us MK.
