Today I won one that may be a little special. This appears to be imperf between. I make that judgement based on the partial image of the stamp to the left and the extra wide margin between. Yes, there is a bad tear down the gap and it has some other issue.

Opinions welcomed, imperf between or not?

Straddle copies without the centerline are known. See Siegel sale 1006 lot 1308.

Thanks Russ, I didn't even think about a straddle copy because it didn't have the line.

I think it is 61R10. Plate 10 did not have a centerline.

It would need to be an attached pair to be a certified imperf between.

Winston,

According to Ashbrook, there are two plates without the center line, plate 10 being one, what's the other?

Thanks, Art

Russ is correct. However, Neinken states that a light vertical line was "scribed" down the center of the plate and is visible only on early impressions.

Thanks Russ & Winston. Your knowledge is, as usual, impressive.
