Doesn't seem to be a whole lot in the Austria book. 1 stamp from before 1908. Quite a few from 1908 through the 50s
Same with Italy and not many at all in the France album.
The Red Minkus WW has more from those 3 countries than any of the single albums by far |

I know, I feel kinda silly. But what a nice surprise. My eyes suck and didn't even notice how nice the MC looked until I looked at the scan. I'm sure I at least flipped past it and just didn't notice it. but I still haven't gone page by page in this thing yet. Just been working on the US stuff.
It does have a thin though :( |

I think I need to go to the yardsales in your neighborhood! I don't think I've ever been to a yardsale where a serious "adult" collection was for sale. The most I've ever seen are those childhood paperback albums and none of those had anything worth buying. |

I've bought single volume Scott Internationals at flea markets in the past, with lot's of classic era stamps, but nothing as cool as a Penny Black.
Can't wait to see more! |

The best I've done was a large box of Israel/ Columbia/ USA stamps on paper (plus tongs, old high tech magnifier, watermark tray etc). I envy you! |

I hope I'm not being rude asking, but what did you pay for all of that at a garage sale? I am assuming someone died and family just wanted to unload their collection, or something like that. |

I paid $175 for everything. There's quite a story to go along with what happened in the days/week or so after the purchase. I'll eventually add in here when I get the time to type it all out.
It all has to do with the research of the guy in the photo on page one of this thread
