Another one. This stamp is missing the red. I showed it to my local dealer and he said, " If it is not Scott listed, it is printers waste". I am not honoring his opinion and wondering if anyone can tell me more about this.

I wouldn't trust your dealer - Quote from Scott 2013 Specialized "USED Untagged IMPERFS exists from printers waste."
Your copy is Used Perf which to me means (maybe) this is a red color missing error. possible red came off when item was soaked off paper.

I should have left this on the paper. I got this in one of those pound of recent on paper mixtures back in the 80's. I soaked it and the red was missing from the start. (Yes, I know I should have left it on it's ragged little piece, 25 years ago I soaked a lot of things I shouldn't have). If you look at it in high magnification you can see the tagging is not affected. I don't think anyone could remove the red without altering the tagging. I believe it to be genuine, but I am reluctant to spend the money on a cert until I know more.

Its very annoying when you find something unique and because its not cataloged no one will give it any consideration. Very unlikely you could completely wash away red without somehow messing up remaining colors even though red is unstable. The unfortunate thing is other than making a special note within your collection unless it makes the catalog value will be only what another EFO collector is willing to pay.

The only way to get it into the catalog is to get a cert. Having the tagging is a good sign, but alas, nothing written here will actually prove anything. It really must be examined by experts.

I would send it in to have an opinion on it. If you get a positive opinion then contact Scott and they will list it. Then you can send it in to an auction and send a letter to your dealer informing him where he can bid on it.
