Yes the tank was named for him. The stamps are Scott 225, 257, 272, 787, 2975a.

He was also on the 1 pint Imitation Sparkling Wine Taxpaid Stamp series of 1872, a very scarce revenue stamp indeed, and the 1/2 oz. black Series of 1875 snuff stamp.
There were also some multicolored Cinderellas for the Hotel Sherman in Chicago with his portrait on them.

But only by the British. The U.S. designation (or name, if you will) was M4.
