A new acquisition for my collection of U.S. revenues used as postage stamps; the first example I've seen on a leather postcard.

A leather postcard? I have not seen or knew that there were such things. What year did leather start and was there many different companies that made them? I also haven't seen that stamp. Do you have a close up view or it or if anyone has a photo of it, very interesting!

it is US documentary stamp - 1 cent - battleship. it is a revenue stamps, and it is very common... but not used as a postage stamp.

leather postcards are not rare... this one is probably not made by a company (because I don't see any marks), but possibly by some craftsman.

That's really a neat combination of the odd materials used as Postage cards and an illegal usage of Revenue stamps as postage! I recently seen a wooden postcard, paper birch I believe, that was to a WWI. soldier although unrelated still neat to see these things! Thank you.
