Here is one ugly stamp, as you can see the perfs on the right side are shot. There is also a hole in the stamp but it does not show if mounted. There is a nice pen cancel. I was going to give this guy a proper burial but then thought maybe someone would want him as a filler until they could obtain another. So if you would like this guy let me know and I'll be happy to get him in the mail to you. first come first served.  |

Is this like the "ugly dog" contest ?

An ugly stamp contest? Why not!
I think I can find some ugly covers
to add to the prize.
As for the hole in the stamp. Herman Herst
wrote how stamp sellers during the early
days of the hobby offered stamps for sale
by pinning them to a board. Ouch!

First let me say thank you very much Rick. Next let me say this is a beautiful stamp. It will go into the other stamps I have been gathering for Kate's Christmas gift.
This will be her oldest stamp and I know you will have made one little girl happy Christmas morning. Her Christmas will be special. |
