I want to show my newest purchase from ebay. I have been looking for the "Curl on shoulder" for some time and it finally appeared. Usually, I just grin and wait for the stamp to arrive, examine it closely then mount it and put it away. Then look at it every few days.

However, today my purchase is what I believe to be a fairly rare strip of 3 of the #24. This strip has a curl on each shoulder. I don't have my books with me so I can't determine the plate position but I think these are from plate 7 and I could be wrong.

The last time I was in Fort Lauderdale was in 1993. I was there on a 3 month contract during spring break, stayed at a hotel right on the beach, the worst contract I ever had. Too many distractions; curves, curls and strip clubs but no strips of three, unless your talking about those three young... never mind.

Ray,

They don't come up often and when they do, I'll put a max bid of several times of what they should go for. Winston was watching as well, he gave an estimate of what they should go for and was spot on.

I can add a couple more curls to my collection. Two "Long Curl In Hair" varieties, a single and a strip of three with one on the end.
I'll post a scan when I get off work. Sometimes this variety comes with a second curl on the same stamp that's located just above the "One Cent" and I may have one of those, too hard to make out at this time.

A silly question, really dumb, but if the perfs ran through the right side of the image in the stamps, where is the rest of the image on the right side of the perfs?

This is what the Long curl in hair, with the curl over the "C' in Cent looks like. Some time they are real hard to see.
