I had something crazy happen this morning. I received this used #112 in a lot I purchased the other day. I think these are great old stamps but figured I would put this on
ebay and use proceeds in another area. Sure enough it was a quick sale. A buyer hit my buy it now price within one hour. Which I thought was a good price considering condition and what I had into it. I was getting ready to ship it and it somehow fell out of the glassine I had it in. I was using one of those with an open top. But they hold them so tight you would never think a stamp could just fall out. It fell out. I searched to no avail and determined the only place it could be is in my heating intake duct which is located in floor. I stuck my arm down as far as I could with a whisk broom. Came up with a big dust bunny. I went through it found nothing. I was about to move on and go back to doing this
. When I saw this manilla rectangle mixed in the cat hair. There it was! No worse for the ordeal!
Its now on its way to buyer and should live to see its 144th year. I would have hated to be the dope who ended that run.
