Tonga is known for it's tin can mail. But can this piece of WWII Submarine Mail be considered to be "tin can" mail, too?

Thanks, Rick. I like to post some of of the more unusual or interesting covers on the forum as I work with them, for those who might appreciate seeing them. Many of them, including this one, will end up on ebay if they are something you might want.

Very nice cover, one of the most interesting military covers I have seen. However I think Destroyers were called tin cans not subs.

Yes, you are right, mkfarm. Google brought up things such as "Tin Can Sailors - The National Association of Destroyer Veterans." It also brought up a book, "World War I LIFE IN A TIN CAN The Experience of Submarine Personnel during World War I," but the preponderance is with destroyers.
