Although this is my first post since joining here 2 months ago, I have been looking around almost daily. Lots to read!

A little about myself. I am 51 years old. I have been collecting stamps off and on since my father got me interested in it around the age of,I am guessing around 9 years old. That is when I lived in Old Bridge New Jersey, before I moved to Toms River NJ [where the hurricane hit, still have my brother and one sister and there families there and numerous other friends and relatives still there].

I am by no means an expert at all on stamps, as this hobby has been off and on. I currently live in Florida, and have, off and on [between living in Texas and Virginia, North Carolina] for about 20 plus years. Am in the midst of moving to West Virginia in the coming days. Am a southerner at heart, was born in the south [South Carolina] but spent my first 18 years in New Jersey, the Jersey shore to be exact.

I have a resurgence in my collecting again. One of my best friends had on of the most awesome collections of stamps I have ever seen. His Grandmother was a post master in Ohio, he had a near complete collection of US stamps, everything you could imagine owning. It was an honor to see and feel them [speaking as only other stamp collectors would understand]. It was because of him that I got re involved again with the hobby.
We would often trade stamps, and when I would go back up north I would get some deals to send him the I came across, such as the Celebrate The Decade series, which I had go a signed copy of the artist who designed the 1940's era, went to the Toms River Post Office when he was there for 4 hours only to sign it, will post pics in the future of it.

He passed away in November of 2011, and I often think about the great times we had together collecting and talking about stamps. Sadly, the collection went to his brother who just took it instead of it going to his misses. They weren't married but where together for nearly 18 years and she should have got the collection since she added greatly to it, that is another story for another time though. I guess I just miss my friend.

I am glad to be here and hope to contribute more. I have recent purchases too that I need to ask questions about too. I am in the middle of relocating, so I may not post that much in the coming days.

Hi Ebbo, good to be able to welcome you to posting on the forum!
I like your phrase

That's exactly what the forum gives many of us, especially those of us who don't have regular access to stamp clubs or shows. We can talk with like-minded people!
Welcome!
