Modern_who, Captian Midnight's secret code- Be Sure To Drink Your Ovaltine!

1775mac, so you were also a member of Captain Midnight's Secret
Squadron and had a secret decoder badge. Cool!

Of course, if you saw A Christmas Story, a previous generation
of Ovaltine drinkers got decoder rings through Little Orphan Annie's
radio show. And the hot BB gun was Daisy's Red Ryder lever action
model and not the Model 25 pump of the 1950's. (You'll shoot your eye out!)

Here are another series by Albert Hirschfeld incorporating his daughters name "Nina". Can you find the rest?

Look in the red circles.

The Mars Pathfinder stamp incorporated hidden images to prevent counterfeiting, while adding an interesting design element. The hidden text -- Mars Pathfinder, July 4, 1997 and the letters USPS --is not visible to the naked eye but can only be viewed by with the secret decoder lens, which is available through the Postal Service's Philatelic Fulfillment Center in Kansas City, MO.

Anyone have an idea where I can get a stamp decoder?

wd1040, these decoders are still available from most post offices.
If your local post office does not carry one you can order from USPS
website and they will mail directly to you.

To clear up a little confusion here......

....it should be noted that the hidden images seen with the "stamp decoder" are very different from the hidden name that Albert Hirschfeld designed into his drawings and the USPS micro printing.

Also.....I have very clear memories of running home from school to be there in time to listen to my favorite radio programs (AM).....among them was Little Orphan Annie......Long before I knew what a TV was.
