I'm curious as to whether this stamp has been cancelled and cleaned in your opinions....

It's in an envelope with many others, but previous owner had it in a small separate glassline.

There's a teeny bit of gum shining on the back.

What do you think?

Hi,
Looks to me cancelled a specialy area Posta|g|e and c||ents.
If you think its duck and might quack don't buy it.
Find one you like it with no "but if" in your mind.
This is how I buy.
So far just one mistake made.
My best regards

The below output from retroreveal ( http://retroreveal.org/ ) shows the stamp has been cancelled.

Nice "cleaned" (foxed) example.

Even without the enhancement of the cancel, the original image is unmistakably cancelled.

Definitely a cancelled (and cleaned) stamp. How do they just remove the cancellation without removing the actual stamps' ink? or is this an inappropriate question? I was always curious but should mention I have no intention of doing such a "stamp crime".
