Forgot I'd picked up this #71 a little while ago (my memory's going!).
Always glad of the experts opinions.



Personally I think the colour looks a bit faded, but at least the centering is nice.

WOW that's a brilliantly centered #71 you have there James! Looks as if it may have been re-perforated on the right hand side though? Still a beauty and would look great in my collection!

Finding one of these well centered and a bright orange is hard, and expensive.
These colors faded quickly.

Thanks for the responses.
Jeff, why do you think it may be reperfed on the right side? I've been trying to obtain better centred stamps, especially amongst the US classics. I suppose with that comes the greater possibility of them being reperfed, but I haven't been able to pin point the best ways to spot them.

Well, I could be wrong, but to me they just look too round to be "natural". Actually I'm not 100% positive because the more I look at it the more I'm not sure? Here is one of mine, it IS reperforated. Can you see how the un-natural roundness of the perforations are up the right side?
(also that's another stamp behind it not a repair..)
