Hi Kenny123, welcome! As far as determining perforations this thread:

is a start in your quest for knowledge.

The two stamps may also be identified by size:
#C12, perf 11 all around, size 46.5 x 19 millimeters;
#C16, perf 10.5 on the top and bottom, and perf 11 on the sides, size 47.5 x 19 millimeters.

You would, of course, need a perforation gauge to do the measurements. Most perforation gauges have an inch and a millimeter ruler along the sides, for convenience.

Welcome to SCF, Kenny. As Doug & Yakboomer stated, there are two differences between the stamps. One is the size of the perforations, the other is the size of the design.

I have added this image to help. The designs, not the paper is what is measured. This image shows in red where the two stamps differ. C12 is 46.5mm wide, whereas C16 is 47.5mm wide

Cheers!

Brian

Thank you Doug,

I'm heading to fifty. Actually I'm older, just kidding. I'm real interested in reaching the fifty so I can bid on some of these great stamps being offered here.

Thank, Dan
