Only about 5 or 6 days ago, there was a documentary about some person, I forget the name (maybe because I couldn't care less?), but, the narrator stated that we was known for using the "F" word 5 times in 7 sentences. My feeling was, - "and you think he was an achiever?"
George Carlin (sp) was a laugh I admit and I got a kick out of some of his skits, but another documentary had to make note that he was one of the first 'pioneers' of the tv industry to use that word. My point is, why is he a pioneer just because he used the "F" word, and, why can't anyone get a point across w/o using that expletive?? People like Jack Benny,Fred Allen, George Burns and Johnny Carson, just to name a few, make large amounts of money w/o having to use those words.
I am not a prude and have sworn on occasion, usually when someone gets my dander up (and that doesn't happen every time either), but not in normal conversation. I don't think it is needed.
My opinion of course. (Sorry if this sounded like a diatribe)
