OK, I know this poor cover is ratty but I bought it anyway. I am very curious about this fellow that it was addressed to and would like to know more about him. This is, of course, the sellers image.

Co-owner of the the firm "Colman & Saunders," a produce and milling business.
I don't much else out there on him, perhaps someone else can find more.

A few more pieces of information on George P. Saunders:

According to this 1880 Census report, he had wife and five children (4 girls and 1 boy):



As noted above, he was a merchant in the flour trade, as partner in the firm Colman & Saunders of Dunkirk, NY. Here's an example of the billhead from the firm:



His obituary from 1908 shows that he died leaving three children, and that he was previously a Director of the Lake Shore National Bank and Trustee of the Forest Hills Cemetery:

He died 7 days before my Great Grandfather was born. Thank you VERY VERY MUCH. I am going to poke around on ancestry.com for him tonight. I'll post anything I find.

I did find a muster roll from the Civil War:
1 pressing question however? How did he serve 3 years but discharged 3 months later?? Enlisted in June 17, '61 and discharged Discharged Oct. 26, '61. according to the documentation? Clerical error I suppose could be the problem?
