I was looking through a bottom drawer for something and came across this envelope that I sent for years ago. It is a FDC dated 1992 and whatever is inside commemorates the Queen's 40th accession. I must have sent for it during my third stamp collecting phase. The thing is, I never opened it and I sure do not recall what I ordered. I am not sure if I want to open it now, after all these years. Should I? The anticipation of what is inside is probably more enjoyable than what it actually is. yakboomer.

FDCs from this time period have a heavy cardboard filler nearly the size of the envelope. This didn't come through the mail to you, since it has no address. The filler card is probably the only contents.

Yes, it did come to me, I wiped out my name and address. I'm sure you're right, though, but I was hoping it was something special, like a letter from the Queen, asking how we were getting along here in the Colonies.
I will never know until I open it.
