I happened to notice this Claire Chenault flying tigers stamp with an anomaly on both the face and his name up the left side. Is this a listed error or just a one off EFO? Thanks.

The anomalies look like scuffs in the surface paper caused by the automatic handling equipment or an inking freak. Either way it is not a listable error.

it was most certainly done in printing as that was the first thing I looked for was scuffing but not the case. Thanks. Back into the heap it goes! lol

Minor printing freak. Looks like something got into the press and prevented complete inking. I can see a rough "white" patch going down his left eye through his lips, like a paper shred.

Not sure about the missing bits on the "Ch" and "n" in Chenault. However, it does look like there is a machining scuff mark to the left of the "C".

Interesting that the top/right/bottom perfs appear cut rather than separated by tearing.

Not sure where it came from but looks to have been sloppily cut from a cover perhaps? It's back in the heap anyways. Thanks.
