This envelope has been in my family through 3 generations. I have been collecting since I was 5. My grandpa was an 1851 3cent red brown fanatic and I inherited the collection after my dad died. This is one of the best covers and there is a slave catalog inside. I am interested to hear from anyone else that is interested in great stamp covers

I have a few of these # 1 and #2

I have been out of collecting for awhile. I worked for Minkus back in the late 60's and early 70's and sold stamps at a federated department store.

Here is my granfathers thing. He collected literally 1000's of this stamp scott # 11 and remade the plates. If I remember corectly [and the memory is not the best] there are at least 20 some plates with 2 100 stamp sheets, so there are 4000+ positions. These multi stamp combinations helped them rebuild the entire plates. I still have the books that
show all the cracks and reetched lines.

Forgot this one. You can use as a #11
color chart. I will have to do more scans! All for now.

Let me expand on my eloquent remarks at the beginning of this thread. These are incredible! Some I would say museum quality. Absolutely beautiful.
And, of course, welcome!

That is indeed some incredible stuff. Can't wait to see more scans. I'd also love to see scans of the slave catalog. I'm a history teacher & I'd really love to share it with my class.
