I was browsing some auction sites this morning and saw this neat cover. I thought maybe someone would be interested in the ad. I think the cover itself might be priced too high but I'm not sure. Anyway, here is the cover and link.

A nice piece of postal history (even though only a meter) nevertheless, I agree it is way overpriced at a BIN price of $14 (plus shipping). Probably the very reason why no one has bid on it up to this point.

An interesting footnote is that Postalia became the first "foreign" meter to be approved for use in the US by the US Post Office Department in 1960.

Am I correct in assuming that the "Postalia" was Italian??

(voice in the back of my head is saying "never assume!")

No. Both Postalia and Francotyp were from Germany and eventually merged together as this history link from their company website (now known as FP Mailing Solutions) will show:

Only a meter, really.

I saw it. It was tempting, but the usage is philatelic, not commercial, so I passed it up.

Nice meter though for a special event.

Meters are gaining in popularity. My opinion of course.

I collect meters, too, although some may not consider them true "stamps" they do perform a postal function, so to me they are a legitimate collectible.

In fact, here's an old newspaper clipping that shows the collector interest in postage meters going way back to the 1960s ... and even referencing the Postalia meter shown in the original scan:
