Do I have these right?

First 2 - brown
Third - red brown
The rest - bright claret?

Way back then there was not standards in colors, red was red, gree was green. Most places did not have electric lights then and works had to mix colors to their eyes which varied from person to person. Now that panatone colors were invented that is nt a problem anymore.

Possibly. My advice is to take all the stamps you think are either red brown or claret and put them under a UV light. The clarets will fluoresce yellow, but the red browns will not fluoresce at all.
