I have updated the H2 listing in the catalog to include a value type with a 1/2 cent. It still has to go through a review process I am sure.

The print United States Postage Meter Stamp Catalog, 2nd edition (1994), lists the N.P.M. meter as type HA4. Hope that helps.

Here is one that meets all the characteristics of an IA3 Type C (in this catalog http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Intern...of_value_box

Except - There is no listing in the catalog for a 3-digit value, except one which is supposedly limited to one meter number.

While I agree the above meter is an IA3 (Type 3), I don't think the Postage Meter Catalog goes into the greatest detail as to the denomination of the meter being over $1 in value. I think I would be more interested in the fact that the meter is imprinted in blue ink (rather than the typical red ink that was most common for the period).

Re-check the catalog. I think you'll find the H2 listing for the N.P.M. meter DOES have a value type (with the 1/2 cent replacing the squiggly lines at the end of the denomination.) The meter numbers for that variety are said to extend from 6061-7093, which fits within the example previously posted.

Hi wt1,

Yes, that is what I added to the catalog listing for the H2.

Agreed, the more I look at the listings, the more I am convinced they switched the squiggly lines out for dollar numerals for the IA3 type B and C.

Being blue does make it more interesting.

Here are two IA7 imprints.

Notice the difference? The wavy lines on the one on the right are 5mm long. I have two examples with the elongated wavy lines, both from MN.

Also, the left example has the ability to print fractional postage as evidenced by the ":" to the right of the denomination. The right example does not have that option.
