Hello everyone, my name is Candice and I'm from South Africa. I've signed up to this forum to hopefully get some help. All my life my Grandpa has been collecting stamps, unfortunately he has altzemiers and is remembering less and less, and with a move coming up he has decided to get rid of the collection.
My grandpa has put a lot of effort into his collection over the years so when someone suggested selling them on ebay, I didn't feel like that would be the right option. So, being web-savvy I decided to help by signing up to get some advice on how we should go about sorting through everything and finding buyers.
I look forward to some interaction in the future, when all the stamps have been sorted through and I know what I'm working with.

Sorry to hear about your Grandpa's condition.

We're glad to have you with us, though.
After learning what you have, you may eventually decide to become a collector yourself.
Welcome to the stamp community.

Welcome Candice!

If you will give us some details about the collection someone will be glad to give you some help. We'll need to know what countries are involved, whether the stamps are used or mint, etc. Posting pictures is very important also. It helps us to determine the quality, and thus potential price, of your Grandfather's collection. That said, like t360 says, I would hope that you would consider keeping the collection and adding to it. We look forward to hearing more from you!

Hello Candice.....

And welcome to the club.

South Africa has some great stamps....can't wait to see what you have.

As others have mentioned, I think it would be great if you continued your grandfathers collection.

Hi Candice,

A big welcome to you from across the Indian Ocean. (I'm in Australia).
Great to have you here.

I have a few South African stamps and I think they are some of the nicest in my collection. Can't wait to see some pics of yours.

Steve

Forget ebay.ditto for me about keeping the collection
or at least some it. It's a fascinating hobby, one that is hugely
rewarding and educational. I owe my college degree to my stamp collection.Anyway, I got on here to tell you about helping your
grandfather with his illness. This purely an opinion and speaking from my experience only. And you would want to talk to his doctor about it. Anyway, I'm taking Cymbalta for my nerves (not for
depression but anxiety). Don't know about any others but this medicine has clearead up my thinking processes tremendously.
My memory is much better than it was. Not to mention it cleared
up my sinus after being bothered with them for 20 years.
Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Everyone is different.
Thought about writing Eli Lilley and asking them if they have had
other people comment about Cybalta that way and perhaps they should
do a study on it. might be a cure for Alzheimer's.
